WCS, a ministry of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, exists to provide a high quality, Christ-centered, academic education to the children of believing parents in the greater Elgin area.  We believe that God has given us a wonderful opportunity to partner with parents in the education of their children. Our purpose is to educate students in the whole counsel of God; our prayer is that their lives will be transformed. As a result of God’s faithfulness, Westminster Christian School is characterized by:

  • a passionate pursuit of Biblical integration in all areas of learning, embodied in relationships that embrace grace and truth.
  • a vibrant student life, producing award-winning fine arts, competitive athletic teams and rewarding opportunities for family involvement.
  • a loving staff teaching preschoolers to teens on a single campus: offering high quality education within a wide range of giftedness.

The desire of Westminster Christian School is to be in partnership with the home and church. Therefore, as an integral part of admission to Westminster Christian School, at least one parent must demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The instructional programs at WCS are traditional, teacher-directed, Christ-centered, core academics that use materials selected to reach goals and objectives developed by teachers and board committees through proper needs assessments. The program also includes instruction in art, music, computers, and physical education. The instructional program is defined as college preparatory with graduation requirements that exceed state prescriptions.

The current student/teacher ratio is approximately 13:1 with a commitment that includes a maximum limit of eighteen students in a kindergarten class, and twenty-five students in other classes.
