The Art and Music programs at WCS are designed to explore and develop the creative abilities God has given to each individual. Students will be encouraged to develop an attitude of excellence in their expression both musically and artistically that allows them to grow in their appreciation of the Arts.

Art is woven into the curriculum beginning in preschool. Teacher directed projects in grades 1-8 expose students to several artistic methods that will allow them to experiment and whet their appetite for things to come. Through an on campus studio experience, students investigate the use of various mediums, techniques, elements and principles of design. Classes such as ceramics, drawing, painting, three dimensional sculpture and honors art give students an opportunity to build on the fundamentals and study more specific areas of interest.

Music is instrumental in the lives of today’s student. Our music program is designed to expose students to a variety of music styles and genres while developing their gifts and talents. Elementary students participate in a general class that provides them a strong musical foundation. Beginning in 5th grade, students are given the opportunity to participate in either band or choir to build on their musical development. Chorus, chamber choir, music appreciation, jazz band, and orchestra are offered to high school students who are interested in a more in-depth experience.
