Choral Music

Westminster Christian School offers choir as an elective at both the middle and high school levels. Over the years, our High School Choir has grown from 25 students in 2006 to over 85 the spring of 2011. The Middle School Choir has experienced the same growth. Enthusiasm, community and musical excellence provide a very rewarding experience for the students enrolled in this course.

The students work throughout the year on developing their vocal techniques, including good tone quality, blend, intonation, along with performance etiquette.  Our performing ensembles present four concerts each school year and perform occasionally for our school chapels and assemblies.  All choral and band students are invited to perform at the ACSI Music Festival in March.  Our music department now participates in the IHSA Solo Ensemble Contest held each spring.

Extra-curricular choral ensembles include The WCS Blues and Barbers vocal jazz ensemble and Voce Chamber Choir. Auditions are required for both.   These ensembles meet before school and perform at all four concerts and at other community functions.
