DRESS CODE

Dress Code

WCS strives to provide an environment where clothing choices do not distract from learning. The dress code which follows is intended to be a practical, simple, and standardized expression of the principles of good sense, modesty, and appropriateness.

Parents and students are directed to give special attention to the following standards:

  1. Shirts, blouses, and dresses must be sleeved.

  2. Elementary students may wear shorts during the months of September, October, April, and May. Jr. & Sr. High students may wear shorts throughout the year.

  3. Sandals should not be worn by elementary students due to the possibility of slivers or injury presented by outdoor play.

  4. Hair is to be clean and groomed.

  5. Jewelry is to be neat and simple. Visible tattoos and visible body piercings (other than ears) are not permitted.

Dress Code Management

In the case that a student appears to pursue extremes in presentability, he or she will be truthfully and lovingly counseled. The counseling process may include, but is not limited to, asking a student not to wear a particular article of clothing again or calling home for a change of clothes. The avenue of counsel / correction will be on an individual basis as determined by school administration.
