The distribution of financial assistance is one of the hardest tasks we tackle each year. Funding for assistance comes from the sacrificial giving of school friends and families so others might have the privilege of attending Westminster. There are times in our lives that God gives us plenty so that we are able to give, and other times where we need the help of our brothers and sisters in Christ in order to accomplish what God has called us to do. It is a blessing to see the funds come in and go out with such wonderful stories!
The finance committee and school board have decided to create additional jobs in the school that will be offered to families who apply and qualify for assistance. Perhaps filling one of these jobs will provide sufficient funds for a family to stay or come to Westminster while providing Westminster with wonderful assistance to our teaching staff. More information is available by contacting Maggie Schwartz at mschwartz@westminsterchristian.org . Families are encouraged to apply early for assistance. Our third party evaluator makes a recommendation of funds needed and we use that as a basis for our decisions. We ask each family that receives financial assistance to help us maintain our facilities and grounds through serving at the school 40 hours during the year. High school students receiving financial assistance are encouraged to serve all or a portion of the required hours while middle school and elementary students are permitted to work alongside their parents as the job permits. The time can be given during the summer, on Saturday's during the school year or after school.
