Westminster Christian High School

Westminster Christian High School partners with parents to provide an excellent educational experience for their children. Scripture teaches that every child is made in God’s image. We are committed to high quality academics that allow each student to reach their God given potential.  The fact that all students are created in the image of God and are uniquely gifted is the core of our philosophy of education.  We disciple and educate students in a way that allows them to discover, embrace, and develop their giftedness for a life of service to Christ.  Our faculty and curriculum are built around a firm commitment to integrate Biblical principles into all aspects of our program.
As teachers instruct students in the higher order skills of analytical and abstract reasoning, our college preparatory program teaches students to think critically about the world in which they live. We provide honors level courses in all core subjects for students who are capable of excelling academically; in addition we partner with both Judson University and Elgin Community College to offer specific college level courses for dual credit. For students needing additional support, our Resource Program provides services that include: additional instruction in specific subjects, individual practice and review with supervision, classroom observation and support, testing administration, study skills instruction and social work services.

Beyond the classroom experience, students glorify God by using their gifts in both arts and athletics. Our visual arts program offers a variety of courses, including honors level art, for students. We consistently receive many awards, including several first place showings in ACSI art festivals. Students have the opportunity to perform in multiple choral groups, as well as instrumental music. Dozens of students are involved each year in our musicals and plays.

Our athletic program allows participation by all interested students. Currently students take part in these sports for both boys and girls: cross country, golf, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and track. In addition, cheerleading and softball are offered for girls and baseball for boys. Our athletic program continues to grow; an advisory committee is now investigating the addition of football.

In addition to academics, arts and athletics, students are encouraged to participate in a variety of school clubs, activities, and service - some of which include:
