Visual Arts Program - High School
Noah Gannon-9th grade pen & ink drawing
Projects in ninth through twelfth grade expose students to
several artistic methods that allow them to experiment and grow. Through
a studio experience, students investigate the use of various mediums,
techniques, elements, and principles of design to visually communicate.
Classes such as Ceramics I & II, Drawing, Painting, Fundamentals of Design,
Graphic Arts, Photography, Art History, and Honors Art give students the
opportunity to build a strong foundation for collegiate study, life-long
expression, and art appreciation.
Students are provided a variety of opportunities within the
program ranging from exhibitions to juried shows through: ACSI Arts Festival,
NIU High School Invitational, Illinois Art Educators Student Show, Judson
Juried Show, Night at the Gallery, PTO Purchase Award, Artist of the Month, and
Community Exhibitions. For more information about our visual arts
program, please visit the art department's website at www.wcsvisualarts.net.
At each program level, the art department selects and
highlights an Artist of the Month. Below are the featured
students with their artwork at the high school level
