Middle School/High School January Interim
The period between Christmas break and the beginning of the second semester is called Interim and provides an opportunity for students to study subjects not typically taught in a regular classroom setting. Interim is designed to increase learning opportunities and has become an enormously valuable and popular component of a WCS education. Classes on campus include extended morning and afternoon sessions lasting approximately 2 and 1/2 hours each. Students receive .25 credit toward graduation requirements per year at the high school level. Course offerings are academic, practical, or community-service oriented. Interim coursework has included professional internships, international mission and art exploration trips, as well as backpacking trips to both the Grand Canyon and Hawaii. Students have also had the opportunity to learn valuable skills in the areas of woodworking, home building, and homemaking (cooking and sewing). A complete list of coursework options is available by contacting Beth Lindberg at blindberg@westminsterchristian.org or via telephone at (847) 695-0310 ext. 208.
