We are pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Fred Versluys (vurs les) as Westminster's new principal over our preschool through eighth-grade programs. Mr. Versluys will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of these programs with direct oversight of all teachers and supporting staff. His primary leadership functions include the following: spiritual oversight, vigorous program and staff development, vision-casting, and leading for academic excellence and integrity in an environment of diverse learning needs, styles and strengths. He will also be responsible to foster community spirit and lead in a strongly integrated discipleship model.

Mr. Versluys will be joining us on July 1, 2012 after finishing his term as the principal of Downers Grove Christian School, where he has served in this role since 1998. Prior to Joining DGCS, Fred was the Assistant Principal at Neubert Elementary School in Carpentersville after teaching for 4 years at Dundee Crown High School in the science department. Additionally, Fred has coached a number of sport teams and looks forward to doing that at WCS in the future.
Mr. Versluys has his B.A. in Secondary Education from Judson University and his M.A. in Educational Leadership from Aurora University along with a Type 75 certificate. Fred and his wife Kelly are parents to four children, Haley (11th grade), Madeline (8th), Benjamin (7th) and Jack (PreK).
Westminster will host a meet & greet for Fred at our Spring Association Meeting on March 15 at 7:00 p.m. Please join me in welcoming Fred and in praising God for such a qualified, godly man to come join our team. |
