Teacher Testimonials

"It is a joy and privilege to teach at Westminster! Teaching young children that we have an amazing God that loves and cares about them and helping them discover how to live God's way is the heart of what I do!"

— MRS. MARY JANSCHEK, KINDERGARTEN TEACHER

"It has been a privilege to teach at Westminster Christian School for almost 21 years. What a blessing to be able to incorporate biblical principles into every facet of my teaching day! As teachers, we can actually help students grow into who God wants them to become academically, spiritually, emotionally, and even physically. Parents are also an integral part of our program, and we welcome them with open arms. I am so thankful for the lasting relationships I’ve made throughout the years with both students and parents at WCS."

— MRS. JOY SATRE, 3RD GRADE TEACHER

"It has been a joy and honor to work at Westminster Christian School. Teaching at Westminster is truly a unique setting as it allows me to teach not just the academic side of the student but the heart and soul as well. Each day begins in a small homeroom setting by reading God's Word and praying as a group. This sets the tone and direction for the rest of our day. Discipling students has been an added benefit to working at WCS. On a weekly basis, I meet with my homeroom girls, going through issues middle school students face daily while reading God's Word. As I teach science, I am able to freely bring in a biblical point of view in the classroom. Teaching about God's glory and creation is such a gift in the academic realm of science. As I work with students daily, I look for ways to address the heart of the student not just the behavior. With our strong partnership with parents, I find myself in continual communication with them. This allows parents and teachers to work together to best serve the student. I know Westminster is a unique school, and I feel privileged to be a part of it."

—  MRS. KATIE ODOM, MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHER

"It is humbling to think that God has enabled me to teach here at Westminster for 13 years. God’s sense of humor has been on display throughout that time as I was hired as a middle school English teacher but was asked to instead teach history on my very first day. I taught middle school history for seven years and then began splitting time between high school and middle school history before eventually ending up in high school exclusively. The beauty of that scenario was the ability to have students, including my own son, at the junior high level and then being able to teach them and build into their lives again as upperclassmen three years later. Many of those relationships are still intact years later.

Being able to share God with students when discussing American history and government with no bureaucratic stipulations is amazing. God has done some amazing things here at WCS, and I am thankful to have been here through many changes and growing pains.   I look forward to what He has in store for the future."
