As a ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church since 1978, the school has had the privilege of serving Christian families from many churches. Currently, more than 85 different churches are represented in our community.

Our History

Westminster has always existed as a response to God’s call – to equip learners to faithfully follow Christ and flourish into leaders for His glory. Much has happened since our inception to fulfill God’s desire for our students and community as a whole.

Westminster Christian School opened its doors in 1978 with 24 students in Kindergarten and grade 1 as a ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church (Presbyterian Church in America). Westminster continued to grow by adding one grade level each year, using a variety of locations until it found the ideal “home” for the school in 1989. There it constructed its first building, a 36,000 square foot facility on 22 acres of land at the western edge of Elgin, where Westminster continues to thrive today. Since that day, programs, teams, and opportunities have expanded. Today our students enjoy a wide variety of opportunities in athletics, fine arts, honors-level/AP courses, clubs, service, bible studies, and much more.

The future remains bright for Westminster Christian School! We hope you will join our one-of-a-kind community; there is nothing like being a Westminster Warrior! Interested? Go to our Admissions page to schedule a visit today!!
