This event is to provide a focused opportunity to build positive student life, corporate identity, and school spirit. The desired focus is on celebrating how God has blessed us as a school community.
A full week of competitive activities is scheduled to include students in each of the high school classes. The week’s activities culminate with interscholastic games scheduled for the fall sports teams as public representatives of the school program. During halftime at one of the scheduled athletic activities, a homecoming court elected by the high school student body is announced.
This event provides a semi-formal environment in which our classmates can socialize outside of the classroom. Our primary goal is to give students the opportunity to come together as a community and engage in fellowship and fun in the midst of a long winter. Ultimately we hope the students will come home with lasting memories as well as new or strengthened friendships.
This is Westminster’s most formal student event. It is both a dinner and a dance for junior and senior students. It provides older students the opportunity to socialize in a mature, chaperoned, off-campus setting. Some prior venues include a dinner boat cruise in downtown Chicago, The Stonegate in Hoffman Estates, and Riverside Receptions in Geneva.
End of Year Bash
The Student Government hosts this event to celebrate the end of the year. Activities have included KnockerBall (bubble soccer), an inflatable sweeper arm game, open gym, pizza/popcorn/soda/snacks, and concluded with a movie projected on the side of the building.
Senior Off-Campus Lunch
Seniors are permitted to enjoy lunch away from campus once a month. As they transition to adulthood, it allows them to exercise responsibility balanced with limited freedom.
